The DIJ library catalog accommodates fuzzy searches.
That is to say, every search can be carried out using only the 26 Latin characters
(A-Z). One can denote German umlauts by their basic vowels, e.g. “a” instead of
“ä”, as well as “ss” or simply “s” instead of “ß”. This applies also
to the circumflex or macron, the most important diacritical sign used to transliterate
the Japanese length mark or long vowel.
